PC-Leland and its companion, PC-AFS, have been upgraded recently to take advantage of development work done in OpenAFS, the open-source program that serves as the root of PC-AFS. These programs give you desktop access to AFS, Stanford's primary storage area for sharing files and hosting websites.
If you use PC-AFS and upgrade to the new version, 1.1, you will need to upgrade to the newest version of PC-Leland, 2.1.4. Similarly, if you upgrade to PC-Leland 2.1.4 and also use PC-AFS, you will need to upgrade to PC-AFS 1.1. (If you don't use PC-AFS, you don't need to upgrade either program, but why not use PC-AFS?)
The new versions are available on the Essential Stanford Software web site. More information about the programs is available there, or on their respective web sites: http://pcleland.stanford.edu/ and http://pcafs.stanford.edu/.
