New ProQuest Historical Newspapers Are Online

Stanford University Libraries and Academic Information Resources (SULAIR) has recently acquired three additional newspapers in ProQuest's line of Historical Newspapers: Washington Post (1877-1990), Chicago Tribune (1849-1985), and Chicago Defender(1905-1975).

The digital editions of these three important American newspapers contain every issue of each title, and display the complete paper with full-page and article images in downloadable PDF.

Researchers may search each paper separately, or perform a federated search to include these three new titles along with the other ProQuest Historical Newspapers already owned by SULAIR (New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, and Atlanta Constitution).

On the SULAIR Web pages, the ProQuest Historical Newspapers can be found under their individual titles on the Databases A-Z list and collectively on the United States History pages under Newspapers Online at:
