New Sciences Databases: NANOnetBASE, ILI Materials and Metals Infoweb
by Abraham Wheeler
The Stanford Linear Accelerator Center has recently purchased and made available the following resources for the Stanford community.
NANOnetBase
Joining the other netbase online book resources is NANOnetBASE, a collection of nanoscience and nanotechnology references. The resource currently features almost 50 titles, across a variety of disciplines within the field. The titles are presented in searchable hyperlinked PDF files.

You can access it directly at: http://www.nanonetbase.com/ and it is also available on the Stanford University Libraries Databases page. (See also SULAIR Improves Access to Databases and Articles in this issue.)
ILI Materials Infoweb
The ILI Materials Infobase contains detailed information on tens of thousands of materials and products. It covers polymers, rubbers, resins, adhesives, fibers, ceramics, additives, pre-pregs, semi-finished products and more. All the information is taken from manufacturer data sheets.
The database allows for quick identification and comparison of a material's mechanical, physical, electrical, impact, thermal and processing properties. You can compare materials using a range of properties to find alternative materials to suit your needs. Also included are tens of thousands of bibliographic records of standards relevant to the materials world.
The ILI Materials Infobase is located under Materials Quicklinks at:

ILI Metals Infoweb
The ILI Metals Infobase focuses on metals grades and properties, as well as covering suppliers and metallurgical standards. It includes over 70,000 metal grades giving the chemical composition, mechanical and physical properties, form and heat treatment details.
The database allows you to search by Designation, Grade Number, Form, Chemical Composition, Mechanical Properties, Supplier, Standard Number or any combination of these.
